SAILOR UPDATE - Morgan Peach and Rhos Hawes (GBR) 49er

49er sailing Harken ambassadors Morgan Peach and Rhos Hawes are ones to watch for the future. Having teamed up in late 2016 the duo are still finding their feet together in the formidable Olympic skiff but, if previous form is any indication, it won't take them long.

Peach and Hawes have already been making great progress and have recently been named to the British Sailing Team Podium Potential Pathway (P3) squad; a big step towards being able to represent their country at the Olympic Games- their ultimate dream. But between them and Tokyo 2020 is a different challenge - getting a degree! Both currently split their time between their studying and their 49er campaign. Between lectures and exams they are trying to gain as much experience training and competing against the best in the world before turning full-time in 2018 ahead of the crucial Games selection period.

The boys took five minutes out of their busy schedule to send us this quick update:

We would just give you a quick update with where we are at and how the last month has gone for us !

We just competed at our first senior International event in Palma, the event provided a tough learning curve for us and showed us the level we will need to get towards in the future!

After the event we headed down to Weymouth for a P3 camp where we just worked on speed and starting (the two biggest areas where we found improvements needed to be made in Palma).

Unfortunately we now have to put sailing on pause for a month whilst we revise for our exams, during this time we are going to get out on the boat every other week in order to maintain the basic skills and from there we look forward to spending the whole summer sailing.

Thanks Rob and Harken for all the support!
