Nigel Rosewall Joins Harken America’s Cup and Grand Prix Sales and Service Team

January, 2007 - Valencia Spain – Harken announced today the addition of Nigel Rosewall to its successful America’s Cup and Grand Prix sales and service team. Nigel joins the Harken team in Valencia Spain where their America’s Cup Headquarters are based. His responsibilities will include technical sales and service for Harken’s leading edge range of performance Grand Prix winches and deck hardware. He comes to Harken from Lewmar Ltd, where he was their racing projects manager.

Harken’s dominant position as the leading supplier of winches and hardware in the America’s Cup and Grand Prix circuit has been largely based on the company’s high levels of service, matched with constant focus on product innovation. Harken is outfitting eleven of the twelve syndicates with complete winch and hardware packages for this year’s America’s Cup, a result of this commitment to service and innovation.

Specifically, Nigel’s responsibilities on Harken’s America’s Cup and Grand Prix Team focus on technical sales and service. These sales and service responsibilities include the design, specification, service and installation of Harken’s deck hardware and winch systems for custom yachts ranging from the America’s Cup and Volvo Round the World Race boats to privately owned Grand Prix and Custom Yachts larger than sixty feet in length.

“In order to maintain the level of service for which Harken is known, we needed additional high quality people to look after the syndicates and projects,” explained America’s Cup Sales and Service Manager Mark Wiss. “We are very happy to have Nigel join the team, as he is one of the most respected technicians in the Grand Prix world – a perfect fit for Harken.”

Wiss continued, “After this Cup is finished, we have a very strong log of Grand Prix projects where Nigel will fit perfectly. He is going to help us significantly and we’re glad to have him on the team.”
